Based on the RX 77D Guncannon Mass Production Type, the RGC 83 GM Cannon II utilizes a similar backpack mounted weapon system that folds over the Mobile Suits shoulders. The RGC 83 GM Cannon II benefits from several improvements, most notably employing a new generator capable of feeding its high output beam
The RGC-83 GM Cannon II is a mid-range artillery Mobile Suit developed by the Earth Federation in the closing chapters of the One Year War. The RGC-83 GM Cannon II also utilizes a Chobam Armor System based on the data gathered by the RX-78NT-1 Gundam Alex. Most of the internals used to build the RGC-83 GM Cannon II come from other GM production models, easing the costs of mass production and long-term maintenance.
